Aluminium Hydroxide Gel Paste (ALP) is a non-sterile pharmaceutical API consisting of a wet gel of aluminium hydroxide [Al(OH)3] suspended in water. It is supplied at Pharma Grade & In-House specification with an Al2O3 assay of 8%–12%.
ALP's two main uses are: (1) as the active ingredient in liquid antacid formulations that neutralise stomach acid, and (2) as the foundational substrate for FD&C lake colour pigments used in pharma, food and cosmetic applications.
